Provenance
In the REPUBLIC project, we have kept track of the data processing that has taken place. This makes it possible to trace down to the smallest detail the decisions we have made in the entire process from scanning the resolution books to displaying them in the web interface. A record is kept of each step for whom, why, when and how it was taken. We refer to specific versions of software that have been developed or used by the project, and possibly to specific settings or configurations of that software.
In the Goetgevonden web application, we offer access to the provenance, or the documented trail of the creation of the data, in two places. The provenance at resolution level can be called up by clicking on the archive icon at the top of the metadata panel of the display screen. Access to the provenance at entity level can be obtained via the archive icons in the entity screen that appears when you click on an entity in the text panel of the display screen. See the explanation of the use of Goetgevonden for an explanation of the various screens and panels.
